In a move that solidifies its position as the world’s leading contract chipmaker, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) has announced an ambitious expansion plan for its operations in Arizona. The investment, valued at a whopping 100 billion , will see the construction of at least four additional 2nm fabrication facilities (fabs) and advanced packaging operations on the company’s sprawling campus.
The announcement comes as TSMC posted another record quarterly profit, with the company’s second-quarter net profit surging 77% year-over-year to a staggering NT$706.6 billion, equivalent to around 22 billion .
