Worlds Leading Robotics Innovators Gather For Prestigious Awards Ceremony

This year’s RBR50 Gala, part of the Robotics Summit & Expo, promises to be an evening of connection and celebration among the world’s leading robotics innovators. The gala will take place on April 30 from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. ET at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center.
The event is a sophisticated evening of entertainment and networking, featuring a cocktail hour, a plated dinner, and photo opportunities. It’s also an opportunity to hear from the Robot of the Year, Startup of the Year, and Application of the Year winners, as well as our first-ever Robots for Good winner. Each year, the RBR50 Gala has become a highlight of the robotics industry calendar, attracting top talent and thought leaders in the field.
This year’s category winners are particularly noteworthy. Waymo’s robotaxi, which has surpassed 150,000 paid trips per week across its deployment, is being recognized as the Robot of the Year. This achievement is a testament to the company’s innovative approach to autonomous vehicles and its commitment to transforming the way we travel.
Another standout winner is Mytra, a startup that developed a 3D lattice storage system that maximizes density and eliminates aisles while allowing flexibility in handling various payloads, from small items up to 3,000 lb. pallets. This technology has the potential to revolutionize industries such as logistics and manufacturing, making it easier and more efficient to manage complex inventory systems.
The Application of the Year award goes to Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO) for its use of a remote-controlled robot named Telesco to retrieve a small piece of radioactive fuel from Japan’s Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant. This achievement demonstrates the power of robotics in safely handling hazardous materials and highlights the importance of innovation in emergency response situations.
Finally, Hello Robot’s Stretch 3 mobile manipulator is being recognized as the Robots for Good winner. This compact, lightweight robot is capable enough to help those with mobility challenges gain independence at home, making it a game-changer for elderly care and assistive technology.
The Robotics Summit & Expo will also have a dedicated area on the show floor dedicated to current and previous RBR50 winners. This year’s showcase will include Endiatx, MAB Robotics, HEBI Robotics, Humotech, Boston Dynamics, Hello Robot, Glidance, Locus Robotics, and mbodi.ai. These companies are pushing the boundaries of robotics innovation, developing cutting-edge solutions that are transforming industries from manufacturing to healthcare.
The event will feature more than 50 educational sessions in tracks on AI, design and development, enabling technologies, healthcare, and logistics. The Engineering Theater on the show floor will also feature presentations by industry experts, providing attendees with valuable insights into the latest trends and best practices in robotics engineering.
The expo hall will have over 200 exhibitors showcasing the latest enabling technologies, products, and services that can help robotics engineers throughout their development journeys. Attendees will have access to a wide range of solutions, from advanced sensors and actuators to software platforms and cloud-based services.
The Robotics Summit also offers numerous networking opportunities, a Career Fair, a robotics development challenge, and more. Co-located with the event is DeviceTalks Boston, the premier event for medical technology professionals, currently in its tenth year. Both events attract engineering and business professionals from a broad range of healthcare and medical technology backgrounds.
Registration is now open, offering attendees a chance to secure their spot at this exciting event. The event promises to be an unforgettable experience for anyone involved in robotics innovation.
