Ukraines 3Dtech Unveils Devastating Drone Interceptor With 12-Gauge Shotgun Power

Ukraine’s 3DTech has unveiled an innovative interceptor drone capable of engaging enemy drones with precision firepower, boasting six 12-gauge recoilless barrels suspended beneath its aircraft. The “Predator Shooter” drone is designed to tackle front-line drones such as the popular DJI Mavic, reaching speeds of up to 150 km/h to neutralize enemy air threats.

The suspension unit, comprising six 12-gauge barrels, can be loaded with various types of shells - buckshot or conventional shotgun rounds - each equipped with a countercharge that compensates for the recoil. This versatility enables the drone to adapt to different combat situations, making it an invaluable asset for military operations.

According to Oleksiy Zhulinsky, founder of 3DTech, the vision behind this remarkable drone was to create a device that could effectively counter enemy drones, including fiber-optic ones. The team has successfully achieved this goal by modifying the cartridge in such a way that there is no recoil, allowing for single shots, automatic mode, or volleys from all barrels.

The Ukrainian military is already testing and trials underway with the “Predator Shooter,” targeting front-line drones such as the DJI Mavic. Developers see potential for this technology to be employed against fiber-optic drones, which currently remain invulnerable to electronic suppression and reconnaissance equipment.

“A fiber-optic drone is even easier to hit because it has several large modules, such as a fiber coil or batteries,” notes Zhulinsky. By leveraging the “Predator Shooter”’s advanced firepower, military forces may soon find themselves better equipped to counter these increasingly sophisticated aerial threats.

The emergence of the “Predator Shooter” marks an exciting development in Ukraine’s drone technology landscape. While not the first interceptor drone with firearms, this remarkable aircraft is poised to set a new standard for its class. 3DTech has already made waves in the industry with separate SICH suspended modules from their Varta DroneHunter series.

By calibrating and fine-tuning the drone software, developers can easily integrate these modular components into their existing platforms, offering significant implications for military forces seeking to rapidly deploy advanced intercept capabilities. The potential of this technology extends far beyond Ukraine’s borders, as countries around the world take notice of 3DTech’s innovative solution in an increasingly complex and dynamic security environment.

The unveiling of the “Predator Shooter” represents a bold step forward for Ukraine’s defense industry. As the company continues to refine its capabilities and push the boundaries of what is possible with drone technology, one thing is clear: this interceptor drone is set to leave an indelible mark on the world of aerial security.
