Space Pioneer Stoke Space Soars Into Orbit With Massive 260M Investment

Stoke Space Takes Off with $260M Series C Investment, Furthering Efforts to Make Reusable Rockets Mainstream
The Kent, Washington-based firm is making rapid strides in developing fully reusable rockets that can significantly reduce the costs associated with launching payloads into space. With the new influx of capital, Stoke Space plans to accelerate its efforts to complete construction of its Nova launch vehicle at the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida.
“We’re thrilled to have the support of such a talented group of investors who share our vision for making space travel more accessible and sustainable,” said Andy Lapsa, co-founder and CEO of Stoke Space. “This funding is a testament to our hard work and dedication to pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in space technology.”
The Series C round brings the total fundraising efforts of Stoke Space to over $480 million since its founding in 2019. The investment comes from a diverse pool of new and existing investors, including Breakthrough Energy Ventures, Glade Brook Capital Partners, Industrious Ventures, Leitmotif, Point72 Ventures, Seven Seven Six, the University of Michigan, Woven Capital, Y Combinator, and others.
Recent notable raises by U.S.-based space tech firms include Astranis, which secured a $200 million round co-led by Andreessen Horowitz and Bam Elevate to build out its Omega satellite program, and Firefly Aerospace, a space transportation startup that raised a $175 million Series D led by RPM Ventures at a valuation of over $2 billion in November.
These investments underscore the growing confidence in the space tech sector and Stoke Space’s position as a leader in the reusable rocket market. With this new funding, Stoke Space is poised to further its efforts to make space travel more accessible and sustainable, with significant implications for the industry’s future growth.
