DeltaQuad – Design / Creative Engineer: A Role that Balances Innovation and Resilience

At DeltaQuad, you’ll have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology that truly makes a difference. As a pioneer in long-range electric Vertical Takeoff and Landing (VTOL) drones, we’re building robust platforms in collaboration with trusted partners, deployed worldwide across defense, agriculture, and inspection sectors. Our drones are designed to be reliable, user-friendly, and built to perform in demanding environments.

The Resilience Department is at the forefront of identifying, mitigating, and neutralizing vulnerabilities before they impact performance or customer trust. As a key member of this team, you’ll combine rapid problem-solving with deep internal expertise, client feedback, and intelligence insights to maintain maximum uptime and reliability. This role requires a strong understanding of complex systems, innovative thinking, and collaboration.

DeltaQuad is guided by four core values that shape our approach to innovation and customer satisfaction:

  1. Partnerships: We grow together through long-term collaboration and shared success.
  2. Customer Focus: We think and act based on our customers’ needs, ensuring their requirements are met with precision and attention to detail.
  3. Ownership: We take responsibility for what we do, embracing accountability and a culture of continuous improvement.
  4. Innovation: We seek smart, practical solutions that work, leveraging advanced materials, 3D printing, and precision manufacturing to drive progress.
  5. Excellence: We aim for quality and results, striving for excellence in every aspect of our operations.
  6. Team Spirit: We build trust, growth, and enjoyment together, fostering a collaborative environment where ideas are valued.

As a Design / Creative Engineer at DeltaQuad, you’ll play a vital role in designing, prototyping, and implementing structural and mechanical solutions that strengthen UAV system resilience. You’ll develop and validate new components, housings, and adaptations that enhance reliability, ease of maintenance, and field reparability.

Your primary tasks will include designing and optimising mechanical components for UAV systems and payloads, applying additive manufacturing (SLS, MJF, FDM, SLA) for prototypes and small-batch production, using lightweight, durable materials such as PA12, carbon composites, and high-temperature polymers. You’ll also translate field feedback into quick, practical design updates, conducting mechanical validation for stress, vibration, and thermal conditions.

Working closely with Integration, Flight Test, and Software Engineers, you’ll ensure seamless collaboration and a comprehensive understanding of system requirements.

To excel in this role, you’ll need a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Industrial Design, or Mechatronics Engineering, 3-5 years of experience in UAV, robotics, or advanced prototyping environments, proficiency in SolidWorks and PDM within 3DEXPERIENCE, skilled in 3D printing and additive manufacturing (SLS, MJF, FDM, SLA), and a strong understanding of materials such as PA12, carbon fibre composites, reinforced polymers.

As a member of the DeltaQuad team, you’ll enjoy coaching and professional growth opportunities, 27 vacation days (based on full-time), a 38-hour workweek with flexible working hours, travel reimbursement, an excellent pension scheme, lunch provided by DeltaQuad, monthly team drinks, regular team activities, and the opportunity to work in an innovative, high-tech environment with real-world impact.
