Pudu Robotics Unveils Groundbreaking Humanoid Robot Designed To Serve Humanity

Pudu Technology Inc., a Shenzhen, China-based company, has unveiled its first full-sized bipedal humanoid robot, the PUDU D9. Designed with a human-centric philosophy, this cutting-edge robot aims to provide practical assistance across various applications while closely mirroring human capabilities.

The company’s extensive experience in the commercial service sector is expected to accelerate the maturity of semi-humanoid and humanoid robots, making robotic services more accessible to the general public. According to Felix Zhang, founder and CEO of Pudu Robotics, “Customer centricity has always been at the core of PUDU’s values.”

Pudu Robotics boasts over 1,000 authorized patents worldwide, covering a wide range of core technologies. Its robots have been widely adopted in various industries, including dining, retail, hospitality, healthcare, entertainment, education, and manufacturing. With over 80,000 units shipped to markets in more than 60 countries and regions, the company has established itself as a leading player in the service robot market.

The PUDU D9 was developed by the Pudu X-Lab and features 42 degrees of freedom across its joints, with a maximum joint torque of 352 Nm. Equipped with the PUDU DH11 dexterous hand, it enables human-like bipedal walking and dual-hand operational capabilities.

Demonstration videos showcased the PUDU D9’s mobility, including upright walking, obstacle navigation, slope climbing, and performing ground cleaning tasks using the PUDU SH1. The robot’s dynamic mobility allows it to walk at speeds comparable to that of adults, reach up to 2 m/s (4.4 mph) on flat surfaces, and navigate challenging urban terrain.

The PUDU D9 also boasts precision manipulation capabilities, with two robot arms boasting seven degrees of freedom each, exceeding a payload capacity of 20 kg (44 lb.). When paired with the PUDU DH11 dexterous hand, it can execute delicate tasks across various applications. The robot’s natural interaction capabilities are noteworthy, featuring high-precision visual, tactile, force, and auditory sensors that empower it to collect multimodal information from its environment.

The PUDU D9 joins a range of specialized robots in the company’s comprehensive product lineup, including an upgraded FlashBot indoor delivery robot and AI robotic cleaning systems showcased at ISSA Show North America. The robot competes with other humanoids, such as 1X Technologies’ NEO, Agility Robotics’ Digit, Apptronik’s Apollo, Boston Dynamics’ Atlas, Figure AI’s Figure 02, Fourier’s GR-2, Tesla’s Optimus, and Unitree Robotics’ G1.

With its innovative design and advanced capabilities, the PUDU D9 is poised to revolutionize the service robot market, making robotic services more accessible and efficient for various industries.
