Nvidia has launched its DGX Cloud offering on Amazon Web Services (AWS) to simplify the complex process of building generative AI (GenAI) stacks. This move aims to reduce the ’time-to-first-train’ for customers, making it easier for them to get started with training, fine-tuning, and running AI models.
Nvidia’s DGX systems are equipped with the latest GPUs, including H100 and H200s, along with the company’s enterprise AI stack, which includes frameworks like Riva, NeMo, and RAPIDS. The DGX Cloud offering provides customers with a managed service that optimizes AI performance and pipelines.
According to Alexis Bjorlin, Vice President of DGX Cloud at Nvidia, “When you think about DGX Cloud, we’re offering a managed service that gets you the best of the best.” This solution caters to the complexity of building GenAI systems beyond just requisitioning GPUs and downloading pre-trained models. It encompasses data curation, fine-tuning, and synthetic data generation, among other steps.
Nvidia’s experience in building AI pipelines on various infrastructure types enables it to share this expertise with customers through its DGX Cloud service. This reduces the complexity for customers, thereby accelerating the GenAI development and deployment lifecycle.
DGX Cloud on AWS supports H100 GPUs running on EC2 P5 instances (with future support on new P6 instances). This will empower customers of all sizes to train, fine-tune, and run some of the largest LLMs. Nvidia’s commitment to flexibility is evident, as it caters to both large enterprises and smaller firms using DGX Cloud for foundation models or pre-trained model fine-tuning.
One of the advantages of using DGX Cloud is its accessibility, with a one-month commitment required for customers. This is beneficial for AI startups, such as Nvidia’s Inception program members, who are still testing their AI ideas and may not be ready for production.
Nvidia is a developer-centric company, aiming to bring customers in and have them build an AI application, which can then be served on AWS. The introduction of DGX Cloud on AWS marks a significant milestone in Nvidia’s efforts to revamp the future of GenAI development. By providing a streamlined and managed service, Nvidia aims to accelerate the deployment lifecycle of GenAI systems, making it more accessible to developers worldwide.
