Hyundai and Nvidia Unveil Strategic Partnership to Accelerate AI-Driven Mobility Innovation
At the CES 2025 conference, Hyundai and Nvidia announced a strategic partnership aimed at accelerating the development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the Korean automaker’s mobility solutions. The collaboration marks a significant milestone in their long-standing relationship, designed to position the company as a frontrunner in driving AI-empowered mobility innovation.
Heung-Soo Kim, Hyundai’s executive vice president and head of global strategy, emphasized that the partnership is focused on leveraging Nvidia’s accelerated computing and AI Enterprise software to manage the vast amounts of data needed to safely develop and train its AI models. Nvidia’s Omniverse platform will also be used to develop physical AI and digital twin applications to simulate factories, improving manufacturing efficiencies and reducing costs.
The company plans to use Nvidia’s Isaac robot development platform to develop and safely deploy AI robots, creating virtual simulation environments for autonomous vehicles and robotics systems. This partnership is expected to have a significant impact on the autonomous vehicle market, with Zeekr announcing plans to launch a domain controller using Nvidia’s Drive AGX Thor system-on-a-chip, making it the first automaker to do so.
Zeekr will also start mass production of its Zeekr RT robotaxi this year, with deliveries expected to begin later in 2025. Waymo, Alphabet’s self-driving taxi service, has partnered with Zeekr to produce vehicles for its next-generation AV based on Geely’s SEA-M electric architecture.
The partnership is seen as a significant development in the company’s plans to launch its new self-driving taxi service. As the autonomous vehicle market continues to evolve, Hyundai and Nvidia’s partnership will play a critical role in shaping the future of mobility. With their combined expertise and resources, the company is poised to deliver AI-driven solutions that will transform the way we travel and interact with our surroundings.
The partnership also has far-reaching implications for the broader automotive industry, offering opportunities for improvement in manufacturing efficiency, cost reduction, and innovation. By leveraging AI and robotics, companies can create a smarter, more connected digital workplace and unlock new avenues for growth and development.
