Céline Dion’s eldest son, René-Charles Angélil, is making a name for himself in the music industry, following in his mother’s iconic footsteps. Born on January 25, 2001, in Florida, René-Charles has been open about his passion for music from a young age.
In an interview with James Corden’s “Carpool Karaoke” segment in 2019, Dion recalled the media frenzy when she gave birth to her son, saying, “And I’m saying to myself, ‘My baby is on television, and I didn’t even hold him yet.’” The teen has since surprised his mother by presenting her with the Icon Award at the 2016 Billboard Music Awards.
René-Charles’s music career took off when he started releasing his own tracks under the stage name Big Tip. His mother, Céline Dion, couldn’t be prouder of her son’s accomplishments, posting on X and Twitter, “I’m so proud of my son. My love for him is so strong, and it touches me deeply that one of his passions is also one of mine.”
Dion’s eldest child has become a talented young musician in his own right, but he’s not the only one making waves in the music industry. Her fraternal twin sons, Nelson and Eddy, are 14 years old and have been growing up to be confident and creative individuals.
Born on October 23, 2010, the twins were named after former South African President Nelson Mandela and French songwriter Eddy Marnay, who worked on several of Dion’s albums. In an interview with the Daily Mail in 2013, Céline Dion talked about her twin boys, saying, “They have very different personalities, but both of them love to wake up first thing in the morning and go to their closet and decide what they will wear.”
The twins’ unique bond has been on full display as they’ve grown older. In 2019, they joined Céline Dion onstage during her final night of residency in Las Vegas, showing off their own musical talents.
Despite their busy schedules, all three of Céline Dion’s kids continue to be supportive of their mother on and off the stage. She recently opened up about stiff person syndrome, a condition that has forced her to explain how to deal with emergencies related to her illness because she may not be able to speak. “As a mother, first of all, talk to your kids. Let them know that you will not die,” she told TODAY’s Hoda Kotb in June.
Céline Dion is a five-time Grammy winner and a global icon, known for hits like “My Heart Will Go On.” Her family has been by her side throughout her career, and it’s clear that they share the same passion for music. With René-Charles’s rising star and Nelson and Eddy’s growing talents, the future looks bright for Celine Dion’s three kids.
