Capra Robotics Lands 116M Boost As Autonomous Mobile Robotics Pioneer Expands Globally

Capra Robotics Seals $11.6M Funding to Accelerate Global Expansion and Robust Partnership Network

The company has secured €11.3 million in seed funding, translating to approximately $11.6 million, a substantial investment that is expected to propel Viby, Denmark-based Capra Robotics towards even greater heights.

According to Niels Jul Jacobsen, CEO of Capra Robotics, the influx of capital from a diverse group of investors – encompassing both U.S. and European backers – is a testament to the company’s vision and the vast opportunities that lie ahead. “This investment not only fortifies our ability to scale rapidly but also provides invaluable insights and networks that will enable us to expand into new markets, better serve our customers, and strengthen our partnerships with top-tier distributors and system integrators worldwide,” Jacobsen said.

Since its inception in 2023, Capra Robotics has been gaining significant momentum with its pioneering material handling system, which bridges the gap between indoor and outdoor logistics operations. The company’s growing list of esteemed clients – including Lockheed Martin, Robert Bosch, ZF Friedrichshafen, the U.S. Air Force, and Deutsche Telekom – serves as a compelling endorsement of its capabilities.

As the global economy navigates historically low unemployment rates, rising labor costs, and an aging population, Capra Robotics is well-positioned to address the pressing need for innovative robotics solutions capable of handling a wide range of tasks. The company’s versatile kinematics and patented wheel frame technology enable it to tackle various automation needs across several industries, including logistics, inspection, and maintenance.

Capra’s material handling system, in particular, has proven itself to be a game-changer by bridging the gap between indoor and outdoor logistics operations. This allows businesses to optimize their material flow across entire facilities, supporting further advancements in production operations. In inspection, Capra is addressing critical challenges in perimeter control and substation inspection, providing robust systems for industries striving for optimal security and operational excellence. Finally, its maintenance offerings comprise smart robots designed to help industries reduce emissions, minimize waste, and create safer working environments.

The investment will fuel Capra’s entry into new geographical markets, bolstering its workforce within sales, service, and support predominantly in Europe and North America. Global backers Supernova Invest, Promus Ventures, Summiteer, and EIFO – Denmark’s Export and Investment Fund – have joined forces to support the company’s ambitious growth plans.

“At Supernova Invest, we are confident that Capra’s solution will accelerate the global adoption of autonomous mobile robots,” said Claude-Sébastien Lerbourg, investment director at Supernova Invest. “Its ease of implementation and competitive edge position Capra to unlock a wide range of new applications, addressing critical labor shortages and delivering significant productivity gains across industries.”
