Aselsan Shatters Expectations With Record 411 Billion Revenue

Turkey’s Defense Electronics Giant Sees Over $4 Billion in Revenue, Up 15% from Last Year

Aselsan, Turkey’s leading defense electronics giant, has announced its revenue for the year 2025, exceeding expectations with a total of 180.4 billion Turkish lira ($4.11 billion). This represents a 15% increase in real terms compared to the previous year, marking a remarkable turnaround for the company.

The company secured over $2 billion in new export contracts in 2025, representing a staggering 104% increase over the previous year. The growth in new orders during the year reached an impressive 46%, totaling $9.6 billion. Moreover, Aselsan’s backlog has increased by 46% compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching a whopping $20.4 billion.

Aselsan’s focus on exporting air defense systems and its investment in Turkey’s Steel Dome missile defense shield architecture have been key factors contributing to this growth. The company’s emphasis on innovation and technological advancements has paid off, with exports accounting for a significant portion of its revenue.

One notable example of Aselsan’s export success is the contract signed with Poland in December worth $410 million. This deal will equip Polish armed forces with electronic warfare systems, further solidifying Turkey’s position as a major defense player in Europe.

The Ankara-based company has also invested heavily in its Steel Dome facility, which Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan previously described as the “largest integrated air defense facility in Europe.” With a total investment of $1.5 billion, this state-of-the-art facility is set to play a crucial role in Turkey’s military modernization efforts.

Aselsan has committed to research and development, spending a total of $1.36 billion on R&D initiatives in 2025. This represents a 40% increase from last year, demonstrating the company’s dedication to staying at the forefront of technological advancements.

The Steel Dome facility is a significant example of Aselsan’s efforts to enhance its capabilities. The company’s investment in this facility will enable it to produce cutting-edge air defense systems, further solidifying Turkey’s position as a major player in the global defense industry.

In addition to Aselsan’s achievements, another significant development has taken place in the world of Turkish defense electronics. Havelsan, a state-owned software and unmanned systems developer, has announced the commissioning of an armed unmanned surface vessel (AUSV) dubbed Sancar. This latest innovation is designed to conduct armed maritime operations with the Turkish army as well as coastal maritime patrol missions.

The AUSV incorporates mission autonomy based on the ADVENT CMS architecture, platform control and monitoring systems, mobile ground control stations, as well as value-added national solutions such as AI-based image processing software and secure communication systems. This advanced technology has the potential to revolutionize Turkish military operations and further cement the country’s position as a leader in defense innovation.

Havelsan has also announced the inauguration of two new facilities: a simulator production and integration facility, and a technology center for the next-generation KAAN fighter aircraft. The simulator production and integration facility is expected to be the largest of its kind in Europe, producing full flight simulators for military training purposes.

The KAAN technology center, on the other hand, will conduct system engineering, development, testing, and training for the next-generation KAAN fighter aircraft. This new facility is located at the Turkish Aerospace Campus and marks an important milestone in Havelsan’s efforts to enhance its capabilities.

As the Turkish defense industry continues to grow and evolve, Aselsan and Havelsan are leading the charge. With their commitment to innovation, technological advancements, and export success, these companies are playing a critical role in shaping Turkey’s military modernization efforts.

The growth of Turkey’s defense industry has significant implications for regional and global security dynamics. As tensions between nations continue to rise, countries like Turkey are investing heavily in their military capabilities, further solidifying their position as key players on the world stage.

Aselsan and Havelsan’s achievements take on an even greater significance in this context. Their focus on innovation, technological advancements, and export success not only drives economic growth but also contributes to regional stability and global security.

Turkey’s defense industry is set to play a critical role in shaping the country’s position as a major player in the global defense industry for years to come. Aselsan and Havelsan will continue to drive this effort, with their commitment to excellence and innovation driving Turkey’s military modernization efforts forward.
